Lakka is located near a beautiful and well protected bay on the north side of the island of Paxos. The bay is famous for its clear blue waters and is ideal for swimming. This cosy village consists of narrow alleyways that open onto lovely squares. From the harbour you can take a beautiful walk up to the bay entrance and the lighthouse. Here you have a wonderful view over the bay and sea.
Sailing towards this area
It is difficult to spot the entrance to the bay from a distance. Keep heading to the north of the island. You will be able to recognise small buildings only a short distance away and usually you will be able to see several boats at anchor in the bay. In high season many sailboats visit this area making the entrance to the harbour highly visible.
Mooring
In addition to the dock for tourist boats, there is also an area for yachts. Here you are able to moor forwards or in reverse, but keep well away from the low quay. The Aloas can easily moor forwards next to the small fishing boats. If the quay is busy, you can drop anchor in the bay, which is also often less busy during the night.
The entire bay is 3-6 metres deep, use the bow anchor and make sure you keep enough distance from the other yachts. It is also possible to drop anchor in the NE corner by attaching a line to the shore.
