At the southern tip of Paxos – just over one mile from Gaios – lies the bay of Mongonissi (surrounded by land). A quiet bay with a beautiful sandy beach and good restaurant. After the meal a spectacular Greek dance show is often organised in which the whole family and staff participate. The gradually descending beach is very suitable for children.

Sailing towards this area

This is the first bay from Gaios. The second southernmost bay is often confused with it. The entrance is difficult to recognise from a distance. Once closer, the flagpoles near the entrance are easily recognisable.

Mooring

Once you arrive in the bay, there is a stone quay immediately around the left corner. As long as there is space, you can also moor here. Reverse mooring is also possible as long as you keep a clear distance from the quay as the water is not sufficient and several rocks located close to the quay. Anchoring in the middle of the bay is a good alternative. You can also anchor with a long line to the quay on the opposite side of the bay.
