Frikes is located to the north of Kioni, at the back of the deep bay of Kolpos Frikon. Is is a nice village with a small port where ferries arrive from Lefkas. To the northeast is a quay where you can moor. There is also a pontoon, but the – too fast and too close passing – ferries can cause serious problems. There are a number of restaurants and a supermarket that sell fresh bread. Tap water is not available. Just like in the southern places of Kioni and Vathi, it is possible to take a tour of the island by taxi. Be aware of katabatic winds, which can come from different directions. Nearby Frikes it is possible to see the windmills which mark the bay.
