This island is privately owned by the Onassis family. Therefore it is prohibited to dock here or drop anchor. The Greek shipowner Aristoteles Onassis bought the island in the 60s.

On Skorpios he married Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. After his death, ownership of the island was transferred to his daughter Christina. Since the death of Christina, Skorpios is owned by Athina Roussel, the daughter of Christina.
